Things to consider

  • Publisher Level Infinite (Tencent) closed the game less than a year and a half after release, having positioned it as a 'World of Warcraft successor' for the Chinese market after WoW's own China licensing dispute — a comparison it never lived up to.
  • Player counts had fallen to just a handful of concurrent players on Steam in the months before the closure was even announced.
  • New registrations and the in-game shop were disabled ahead of the final shutdown, with existing players able to keep playing (using existing items) until the termination date.
  • The game touted a 'no pay-to-win' design and nine playable classes, but couldn't build a lasting audience despite Tencent's marketing reach.
